There are no videos online for my situation. The dog is a big rottweiler that is as tall as me when it stands up. He is 2 years old, not a puppy. It is extremely hard to put the leash on him but when i finally do he bites his end then goes up and up and pulls until he has the whole leash. Hes stronger than me so its hard to pull it from him. The he jerks his head around and plays with it. He then loses interest ansd wanders around the fenced in area in which i train him. By then the leash is tangled all around his leg and he gets all rowdy when i try to untangle it. I have to distract him by giving him a treat so i can untangle it and have the leash again (i know that's rewarding him for this but i don't know any other way). When i do get it again he regains interest and the whole thing starts over. How do i stop this? Please help.
Update:Well i need the leash for training sooo...
And its comfortable enough he has a good quality collar and its not too tight or loose.

Maybe use 2 leashes, one short one he can chew and one you keep out of his way. Or muzzle him til you get him retrained.
You mentioned he's in the area in which you train him. What are you training him to do? At the age of 2, why isn't he already trained in basic manners? By letting him "win" in the tug of war with the leash, you're inadvertently training him to take the lease away from you. NEVER let him win that game. If he's stronger than you and you can't win, someone else needs to train him. You're also rewarding him by giving him a treat (which you already know). I don't know what kind of training you're trying to accomplish but those are basic tenets that every dog trainer knows. DON'T reward bad behavior. You should consult a trainer as well. An untrained 2 year old rottie (unless he's got a great, non-aggressive personality), is not a dog to be dealt with by an amateur or it's likely he'll be made worse.
This video is demonstrating using a puppy, but it will work for older dogs too. You are reinforcing the behavior of acting crazy on leash, because you are putting the leash on him when he is insane. Keep the leash on him AT ALL TIMES, so he associates the leash not only with walks, but with laying down, being quiet, and behaving well. You should not be training your dog in one set area, it will make your dog ONLY behave in that area. You should be training your dog in many different places. Never put the leash on your dog or start the walk until he is calm and relaxed.

He has invented a wonferful game. Soak the leash in bitter spple or cider vinegar. Hot pepper sauce might deter the mouthing. He also might benifit by a head collar. That would make you more in charge.
yeah, my boxer does this too.... hes chewed throug 2 leashes previously i eventually were given the experience to purchase a chain leash.... yet another aspect you may do in case you dont like the chain leash concept is to spray your leash with bitter apple...
I have a dog that bites the leash and i bought some sour apple spray and sprayed it where he was biting it and he stopped, so maybe you can try that.

I am guessing he doesn't like the leash. Maybe it is to tight?
Maybe its uncomfy for him? And tell him off when he bites it because i know dogs that do that and it means they just get over-excited
