They should count and interestingly, MANY Israelis are very concerned about the huge number of innocent civilians, including more than 100 children, who are being killed in this overreaction by Israel.
But not Americans. Read the answers above and below, they are all so callous and simplistic. Americans love to boil things down to silly one-liners. Read Supernovea's idiotic answer: Israelis have better aim. Never mind that the Israelis are using American supplied F-15s and Apache attack helicopters, while the pathetic homemade missiles of Hamas are little more than bottle rockets.
There are protests all over the world, INCLUDING IN ISRAEL, but fat, dumb Americans just yawn and turn on the TV set to watch a football game or see who is dancing with the stars.
Obviously it does not matter to people in control of the UN security council (namely US). So far they have obstructed any call for a ceasefire. Reminds me of the Israeli war on Lebanon in 2006. More than 2000 Lebanese (95% civilian) were killed. The UN Security council called for a ceasefire only after the Israeli ground offensive failed miserably and Israeli military losses were mounting daily, that the US finally allowed a ceasefire.
So far Israel has not started a ground offensive on Gaza. So their losses are minimal as Hamas rockets are very weak and inaccurate. So the war will continue unabated. Since Israel started this war 414 Palestinians and 4 Israelis were killed. Just like the Lebanon war, I think Israel will attempt a ground offensive some time later, and it will fail as miserably as the one in Lebanon, then Mr. Olmert will Call Mr. Bush to beg for a ceasefire in the UN security council.
I do not know how many Palestinian children have been killed since last Saturday, but I know that there were many. However, since 2005, there has been 50 Palestinian children killed or injured for every Israeli child killed or injured. Check this answer with many references:
Sure they count, but that is war. When you start war, you risk the lives of your civilians. Remember what happen to the civilians in Germany and Japan when their countries went to war and lost. Now the Palestinians are paying the price of Hamas.
The Israeli have been paying the price for over 40 years, but do a better job of defending their civilians. The Palestinians lose more civilians because their Hamas and other terrorist leaders/killers hide among the civilian population.
If Hamas sends 3,000 rockets into Israeli cities with the goal of murdering civilians, is it any less offensive if only one person dies instead of a thousand ?
If someone attacks you with a blunt knife is it any better than a sharp knife ? Should you wait until your enemy sharpens the knife before it becomes politically correct for you to stop him ?
Fortunately Israel has good aim. Hamas does not.
Israeli civilian death toll is around 4 (from a missile) last I read and 1 military official, which is 80% civilian casualties in relation to the whole. Hamas has promised more suicide bombings so it will probably go up, and only for civilians.
Palestinian death toll is around 400 with the Gaza incursion and 60 are civilians, which is about 15% of the death toll. The other 85% are Hamas militants.

More than hundred Palestinian children (half the population consists of children),and I think 3 Israeli children.
Search the news for it.

Not when dealing with provocation.

You can blame Hamas for all of the deaths. What a shame that so many innocents have to suffer and die.
I think this question needs to be directed at the remaining Hamas officials.
No.
