I currently have 1 spayed female 10-month old minirex bunny and want to adopt another baby dwarf bunny (6 weeks old) but the adoption center told me to think about it because the current one can pick on my baby bunny (because it's smaller). Is there anyway to get them get along with each others? I know that I should put them in separate cages but I really want them to get along with each others. Thank you so much!

Only spayed/neutered pairs can be housed together. A good shelter shouldn't be adopting out 6 week old babies. A responsible shelter wouldn't adopt out until the rabbit is at least 4-6 months and spayed/neutered. A 6 week old rabbit should still be with its litter mates.
Read up on rabbit bonding, tons of excellent websites. The first step is BOTH rabbits being spayed/neutered though. Two rabbits once spayed/neutered and bonded can live together in large enclosures (no cages made are big enough for rabbits).
I've had a Rex rabbits before and they aren't the friendlist rabbits. Beautiful to look at but didnt like to be handeled or stroked and I brought the two of them as bunnies, they were sisters. Rabbits can attack like any other animals and it isn't un heard of that they can eat there babies. If you really want this new bunny I would keep it in a diffirent hutch. If you brought them both at the same time it would be ok but as you haven't I think diffirent hutches are best. Hope I helped xx
Most rabbits can be bonded, male/ female bonds usually being the easiest. It does take time and a lot of patience sometimes. Rabbits truly are happier with another rabbit; however, if they are not bonded properly they could end up hating each other. If it sounds like something you can handle, go for it. Goof luck with the buns!
It would be better to let your girl choose a neutered male to bond with. Rabbit rescues have neutered males that she can meet. That way you can see if they at least have the potential to bond.
The difficulty with a baby is that as soon as its hormones kick in, fights will ensue. When this happens, it will greatly diminish the possibility of a future bond.

Well theres not really a way to force them to like each other if you dont like someone you just dont like them. Id say test them together if they bond they bond if they dont like each other and you keep them together one of them could get ingurd or might even die. male and female bonds are quite unsual if they are not related because the female usually gets aggresive and the male might try to breed. If they were both young like 2 months old they would usually get along very well. hope it goes well.
