Butterfly loach is a generic name for several species of hillstream loach. If you can get a species name it will make things easier. Generally speaking they like cooler, high flow systems. It needs to be very oxygenated as they come from river habitats. They sometimes take prepared foods but some never do. They live off of the aufwuchs in the system so should be in a well established tank.
These loaches come from fast moving streams and can die from lack of oxygen in the average tank set up. here is a link with more info on care and tank set-up.
