Are sugar-free drinks bad for TTC and Pregnancy?

I posted yesterday saying that I'm creating better habits now that DH and I are TTC. I have cut out caffeine completely--which was really easy--no side effects! But I'm getting tired of only drinking water--and according to some of you yesterday I'm drinking too much--thanks for the heads up!

So my question--I went to the store to get some Sprite's (no caffeine) to keep at work but all they had was Sprite Zero--the sugar/carb free kind. I got it (thinking it would be better than Sprite anyway since it wasn't high in sugar) and brought it to work and my boss said that it could be more dangerous that the straight up sugar kind when TTC and especially when I get Pregnant. Is this true? Do I need to stay away from the sugar-free stuff?? We really want a baby and I don't want to screw up by drinking the wrong thing!! Thanks.

What are some safe things to drink when TTC besides water? I'm fine drinking it, but every once in a while I want to switch it up! And I don't like lemon in water so that's out! Thanks!
