With my experience with other Gemini's yes they are dominant. Even in friendships, I've seen, my ex best friend who was a Gemini was dominant with our relationship.

I find them dominant intellectually speaking. I don't find them dominating in relationships. I may not be a good example of relationships with Gemini though, since I'm a Virgo. I've dated Geminis who were friends, and when all was said and done, we remained only friends. I like talking with them, and I've found they are always correct about any argument. What you're describing is what I see with most air signs. They usually like a debate, and they're knowledgeable on many subjects, sometimes just enough to sound like an authority without actually being one. I don't mean it to sound like I dislike them, because that's not the case.
