When my clients log into my domain using VPN they need to type the full PC name with it DNS suffix to access resources e.g. pc.domain.com, even though the primary dns is assigned by DHCP. is this the common practice or do i need to configure somthing else.
I also noted that the VPN client ip is ok but the subnet mask is 255.255.255.255 but my dhcp is set to hand over 255.255.255.0 (works ok in the internal network).
Thanks
Masud.
Update:Thanks Miha49, the Connection Manager is what i was looking for, the subnet mask is from ipconfig/all but it dosent cause any trouble.
So what is the best way for the clients to browse the internal resources through a VPN. I thought it would be something like clicking entire network and click the PC the way we do from internal network.

Once they use the VPN, they may be able to use their local connection as well as the VPN connection. I often split my tunnel so I don't use the VPN's gateway as the default gateway. I have found it necessary to use the domain since the local domain for the machine may be different than the domain for the VPN connection. You need to specify the domain so it will be able to know how to resolve the name correctly instead of using the default domain of the computer when it is not VPN connected.
Subnet masks may wind up looking a little strange after the VPN connects since it monkeys with the routing table quite a bit. I have seen everything from a subnet mask of 255.255.255.255 to 255.0.0.0. This is especially true if the client has another VPN on the machine, and it gets involved when it isn't supposed to. Actually now that I think of it, you could be talking about the subnet that you see in IPCONFIG versus the routing table. I am talking about the routing table here. Since it cannot talk to any other computer directly that is on the other side of the VPN, the IPCONFIG subnet is 255.255.255.255 so it doesn't try to look for it on the local net. But the route for the subnet will specify that single IP address for the subnet on the other side of the VPN.
If you need to split the tunnel and/or need to customize the routing table, then download Connection Manager from MS, and you can create your own routing table modifications. I think it might be included in the Windows 2003 Server disk.
I actual have been making use of Nokia Lumia 710 and even have a Samsung Galaxy S3. In any OS no remember if this is domicile windows, Linux, mac, or Android, in case you install many apps+video games then ofcourse it is going to slower the functioning velocity of the equipment. yet in my view i think that samsung galaxy s3 turns right into a lot slower , infact any android gadget turns right into a lot slower whilst in comparison with domicile windows gadget
