Why is ben wallace being blamed for the bull's imminent demise?
radio stations all over chicago are blaming the big fella, i thought he is a defensive specialist and not a scorer, so why castigate him? this is skiles undoing, shouldn't he be taking the blame?
call it media bias, these radio stations are coming up with all the animosities just to boost listener ratings, typical media mongering stirring up the crowd, bulls fans most especially.
the brilliant basketball mind of the collective - paxson & skiles in their eternal wisdom went out of their way to offer wallace the maximum contract thinking that it would erode the Pistons. boy where they wrong (as usual), they did the Pistons a favor, they took away the offensive liability.
Big ben should not be blamed because hes the 1 who made the bulls get into the playoffs. He's the one who made them a more balanced team by providing the big man status down under the net. before that they didn't have anybody. he may not score but he passes it out for a nice 3 point or a good jumper. and on defense he provides that essence that phychs out the other teams center. He shouldn't be blamed, he should be thanked
You cannot put the blame on 1 person. Basketball is a team effort. He may have aided with some of their issues, but it's not fair to blame him. True, he is probably the worst free thrower in the NBA right now along with Shaq, and he also hasn't been too sharp with his rebounds, but that's just not fair to put all the blame on him, he isn't the only one playing for the Bulls!
I read some of that...its sad really...Ben will eventually go down as one of the great players of the game..
it sounds like a trade is coming for Ben..i see him doing allot of bouncing from team to team soon...
....he should have sucked it up and stayed a piston....learned to play zone... which he was opposed to playing......i think he would have been safer here...maybe...
that is to much for any man to take on..to be blamed for a teams bad play is insane...
why are they...because the bulls coach/powers that be ..thought he alone could stop the Pistons...
They got him knowing he was not an offence minded playet... now they are crying for him to play offence...
there are 5 players on a team..it is after all a team sport...it was not Ben alone that lost those games... it could not have been Ben alone that could save them..it takes 5...especially against the pistons....
the teams that do this one person will save us/will carry us...are teams i would never consider good...not lebrons not kobe's...A team becomes good when it is playing like a team.....
it always stuns me when fans or media go on and on about that one player that runs the show like its something to be proud of...its not... its an illusion of a team..
the pistons & suns play like that also.. and the spurs...one mind 5 bodies... those teams do not blame one man for the teams failures....
i really feel bad for Ben...whoda thunk..considering i was so mad when he made the choice to leave the pistons... its still a shame to see any player put on the spot like that...
I do think after the first game..there was some emotional stuff going on for Ben...maybe wondering if he made the right choice... maybe just missing that unity.. that he was/is not feeling or getting w the Bulls..
maybe knowing that his new team was not even close to beating the pistons and would not beat them... if anyone would know it would be him...
the being late to the game on thrusday is a beef to in bulls land....i read that he said he was not in the right frame of mind and needed a bit to get his emotions under control....I don't find fault in that at all...its better to benifit your team than not... ...he was playing aginst a group of guys who were like family to him for years...he knew they were not going to win ....it would not take a seasoned player long to figure that out......Ben kinda lost face on top of it all
i think blaming him is wrong... who they should be looking at is their coach.....
Maybe Big Ben is blamed because of his history with the guys that his playing in this series, hell its so wrong for all the radio stations to blame the big fella, IS BASKETBALL A INDIVIDUAL SPORT, it is a team sport and they should work as a team to win.
Ben Wallace is not the one to blame. This is whole thing is simply about one team collectively being better than another team collectively. Ben can't beat the Pistons all by himself, it doesn't matter if there's history between the two.
maybe you are right . but it IS wrong to blame ben wallace. he can't defend all of detroit, especially their balanced offens. if the bulls are to stop the pistons, all of them must play defense.
