I loved the Big Island because:
Snorkeling can't be beat here - in Oahu lots of places are foggy due to tourists.
Volcano Park - awesome
Top of Observatory - surreal
Beautiful waterfalls and walks
Local, relaxed and not as touristy!
I would say The Big Island but the Volcano is closed to tourists so Kauai if you like scenery and hikes. Oahu if you like action stuff like the north shores surfing and kayaking.
It really depends on you and your circumstance.
If you're beach / party-er type, I'd say Maui.
If you're on a budget, first time, I'd say Oahu.
If you want quiet and peaceful, I'd say Kauai.
If you want a little of everything, I'd say the Big Island.
