Open a separate console window, and run your program from there. Not only does this keep the window open after the program ends, but it allows you to control when the program runs.
You don't explain what you mean by "writing something wrong."
One possibility is that it is not doing the build, but there is not enough information provided for me to suggest why.
Another possibility is that you just are not seeing the window that shows error messages. Use the View menu to see either the Output window or the Error List window. Do that after doing a build.
