My cat is about 12 years old. She's very bony, light and doesn't do too much; sits around a lot. She did go on her back yesterday (playful mood), but most of the time seems weak. What's going on?
Yeah, she sounds sick, maybe with kidney disease. Definitely make sure she intakes more water, not only through her water bowl, but through wet food as well. That has 70% more water than dry food, and since cats don' take in water as much it's your best bet. Especially for a cat with kidney disease, who lose a lot of water. But it would be good to give her both wet and dry.
The vet will have a better take, in case there is something else, or it is a different sickness. They can help her feel better too. But make sure she eats and drinks for sure, because that is super important. Because sick animals sometimes just don't want to eat, making them worse.
:) I pray she will get better
Maybe give her a pinch of catnip? I would ask the vet if that is okay first though.
Sorry to say, she is sick. And is obviously under weight. Probably needs fluids. Cats are prone to kidney disease. My cat died from it. But I caught it early and she just needed meds. She lived till 18. You need to give her proper food. Wet and dry. More nutrients in wet. Take her to tHe vet ASAP. Cats will play and pur even when they don't feel well.
Is she eating and drinking OK, is she peeing and pooping OK, if all is well, then she is just an old lady. However if she is very week, then take her to the vet.
