I'm trying to figure out roughly how much money I will get for my broken gold jewelery. I don't know how much it weighs but if I had to take a guess, I'd probably say a quarter of an ounce. However, that is not all gold. I have a ring that is 10 carats. It is very thin and has two small (I mean, really small) diamonds. I also have a hoop earring but it looks like it has some silver in it. I also have two other all gold hoop earrings but they are really light weight. I don't know the carats for any of the earrings. I know that this isn't enough info to get an exact price (maybe not even close) but I just don't know if it is roughly $5 or $20 or more. Also, I read that the best place to take your unwanted, broken jewelry is to a jeweler to get the most money. Is this true? Please give me any info to get the most out of my gold.
