Well both hold their ground very solidly. The Camaro has the advantage of being a GM product and can just about be sure to not have any problems. However, the Challenger has the advantage of having a 425 bone stock horse power Hemi, but at the same time lacks some styling features. There is a fine line between retro and reproducing the same car, and that is pretty much what Dodge has done the car hasn't changed hardly at all except for the materials. The Camaro is retro enough that you know what GM was doing when they designed it but you can tell a difference in the 2009 and the 1969. The 6.0L LS2 Chevrolet has promised the Camaro is sure to put out 400 horses stock and with just minor adjustments it could have the same if not more than the 6.1L Hemi. Depending on which car has the upperhand in suspension and aerodynamics I think will overcome, because both engines are fairly compairable. Even though the Hemi is a very hot engine capable of many great things, theres no way GM is going to lay down and take a beating from Dodge. I personally really like both cars! I've always been a Bowtie fan but the Challenger has impressed me so far and I think it will be a force to be reckoned with on the streets. Hope I could help!
What an amazing year for american muscle, if only the barracuda had come out now (planned for 2012). 1- Challenger 2- Camaro 3- Charger/Mustang (Tied) Here is my reasoning. I think all 4 are great but I dont like the rear lights of the 2010 Mustang. I also dont like the 4 door sports car style of the charger as much as the others. So its really a toss up between the challenger and camaro. The thing is that here in Montreal, you can only get a 6-speed automatic Camaro for now (until 2010). Personal opinion...
There is a good chance the dodge challenger will make a better overall car.The reason the new camaro has nothing but problems. That is the reason its taken Chevy so long to bring this car to market.Poor engineering and lack of planing will make the new camaro like the others low sales and lots of problems.Best of luck.
Since neither is out yet nobody really knows. We probably have a good idea what the Challenger can do because its based on the 300/Charger/Magnum platform though.
They both look great and will have similar power. GM is dropping the 6.0L LS2. Its being replaced by the 6.2L LS3. Both are new and will have huge dealer markups and low volume. Take which ever one you can get ahold of.

challenger more powerful engine and was more faithful toward the old muscle car cues
