Finally the day I get a dog is happening in about 10 months.
My home -
A spacious two story townhome that's about 1600 sq feet
I have a patio that's not screened In and a small yard that's not fenced in .
My family -
There's 5 kids in my family all above the age 12 except a 3 year old .
My requirements -
I want a dog that's family friendly and both an active and serene lifestyle .
I want it to be fairly easy to train and under 50 pounds
I also want a dog that'll love to cuddle and sleep on the couch with me .
My mom and two brothers have allergies but oddly not to all breeds . They would react to a dauschund but not chihuahuas or beagles . We've tested this !
I'd really love a golden retriever but not sure it would do well with my mothers allergies .
I will be able to provide 1 brief walk in the morning before school
1 45 minute walk right when I get home .
1 30 minute walk before dinner
I brief walk before bed .
Also I will be able to run around for 30 minutes with him during the 45 minute walk and 15 minutes of on leash jogging .
So what breed should I look into ?
I'd rather have a bigger dog like a retriever over a smaller dog . I also have a interest in beagles as I use to have one

Allergies? You'd have better luck with hair type dogs than coat that shed. Breeds like poodles, Maltese, Yorkie, Bichon are definitely safer than most. Many if not most Doodle mix are pretty safe with allergies and it also help with training ability too. Poodle rank second in dog intelligence. It's not exactly how smart but more how easy to train them. Here's some reading on the subject.

west highland terrier or a maltese. my neighbor has a westie. she has 3 kids, a 11 year old, 5 year old, and 2 year old. The dog is very playful and active and the children love him. They don't have a fence, but the dog stays around the house a lot. He's somewhere from 20 - 30 pounds
I have a Chihuahua and she loves to snuggle but she also loves to be walked and played with! She isn't mean but she is very protective! A husky also might be a good choice, but it is a bigger dog. Husky love playtime and will also be a great bestfriend! I don't know about the allergy issue though. You should try looking for a dog in the animal shelter, because they need good homes! Hope this helps! Good Luck!
I think it depends on what grade you're in but I suggest the breed of the dog i have. It is either a maltichon or a poochon (maltese bichon mix or poodle bichon mix) Im not really sure because we adopted him. He is half my size(my size=4'10" don't judge i havent gone through puberty yet) when standing on his hind legs and around 25lbs. He is really smart he know around 15 or more tricks, i taught him all of them and im going to 7th grade so he is easy to train. He loves cuddling,he acts like a baby. but is really hyper when outside. you should be fine because you seem to have more time to take your future dog on walks. He became potty trained in a funny way, I would say but that would give alot of uneeded information. I know the owners of his brothers and their dogs a.k.a his brothers are also as smart. this is info about my dog but i think this breed is very smart. whatever dog you choose good luck and have fun with it! I attached a pic of my dog if you want to know how he looks.
You've already made the decision, you just have to realise it and act upon it.
