For a city I really like it. I mean, I haven't lived in any other cities, but other cities I've been to all seem to be less friendly, less walkable, and have less trees.
It also seems to be easier to find jobs here than other places, from what I've heard and experienced.
And I would say it's safe, but there were recently a bunch of shootings. But, like, as far as muggings and robberies... it doesn't really happen much at all that I know of. You can walk around at night pretty safely.
Oh and driving in Seattle is a pain, but there is an excellent bus system, and the main part of the city is compact enough that you can walk most places.
For a city, it is nice, but then I don't like city life, prefer less crowds, traffic and costs. I live in Western Washington and I would have to consider this area the best place in the USA. I am not from here and have lived in six other states.
