A little info I think should be considered about this drug Versed ( Midazolam ) that is used for Sedation for many medical procedures..Sedation and General Anesthesia are not the same and quite a few people being given Sedation
think they are being given General Anesthesia!
There is simply no good or valid reason to ever purposely induce amnesia during a medical procedure. It is only a recent development in medical thinking that amnesia is somehow a "benefit" to the patient. On occasion some
some patients will remember a bad experience. Forgetting does not mean it did not happen!!
I feel that if people were aware of the effects of this drug they would Opt For Another Drug!
Erasing someones memory of what was done to them is wrong!!
In fact, many people who use Versed for " IV Sedation,Conscious Sedation" Twilight Sedation, during a procedure are Awake For The Entire Procedure but remember nothing, often Believing They Were "Out" the whole time.
Versed (Midazolam) is an amnestic. It is also commonly used for minor procedures like setting broken bones, colonoscopies, endoscopies, dental procedures like extractions, conscious sedation, twilight sleep, so that patients won't remember pain and discomfort.HOWEVER THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THOSE SENSATIONS WILL NOT BE EXPERIENCED!!!!
Here is a note from a Dentist Who uses Versed
I've used Versed 1000+ times during oral surgery procedures and I've never had a complaint. It's a miracle drug because it is safe and it causes you to not remember an unpleasant experience. My answer to him is isn't it better to have not experienced the pain than to have forgot it. No wonder you have had no complaints they have no memory of the procedure.....
I feel that giving a drug for amnesia is cruel I would not want it done to me!
A strange development in medical thinking that it's okay for a patient to have
pain as long as they don't remember it and think they slept thru the procedure..
Well when i was sedated for my operation I was feeling VERY funny, I laughed at a few things, nothing that bad. As they rolled me down the hallway everything turned to bears, like the nice little teddy bears, all the doctors heads were teddy bears and such, it was quite interesting. Personally I don't like drugs and I was really scared but the Doctor calmed me down.
You know nothing you are out like a mega sleep. You have no dreams nothing. When they give you the drug they say count down from 100 i made it to about 90. You barely remember getting the drug into you. But it like you close your eyes and now your awake and don.
I have had 11 operations, In your room, right before you are taken to surgery, you are given a light sedative to make you relax. It makes you feel really nice. Then in surgery you are given a medicine that knocks you out. You don't dream. You have no memory of anything that happens during surgrey. After surgery you, you wake up back.
I think about you when I'm sedated. I can't keep you outta my head when I'm sedated. I love it when you come to visit me. I can hear you. But I'm sedated.
I think you can here people but when you wake up you wouldnt be able to remember, Also i think that you are just in a really deep sleep. I havent been in this situation before but thats just what ive been told
You know nothing your brain shuts down, it quits thinking, you have no feelings or feel no pain. When you are on life support your body is alive but your brain is dead. there is nothing there so disconnect it.

Sedated: limited only to imagination. Like dreaming. Depends how heavily sedated.
Life support: to me it would be beyond sedated. But, I have friends who say they knew someone was holding their hand (for example.)
Can you hear other people: again it depends. I was unconscious once and came around when someone said my name.
There are too many variables for you to get definitive answers to these questions.
