Looking for ideas for gift exchange, NOT secret santa or white elephant.
Family is relative small, 8 people, but ALL our gifts come from one another (we receive nothing from other family members). Ages range from 1-45, and is essentially two families (2 sets of parents, both with 2-3 children each).
The problem that we are facing is being able to stay in our budget, still being able to get what everyone wants, and everything still being more-or-less a surprise. (Someone writing down exactly what they want, and giving it to one person for them to buy is not an option)
Update:Again, the problem IS NOT what to buy everyone, but rather how to get everyone what they have asked for and still keep it a surprise. We each probably have $500 or more to spend

Hey, your best bet would be looking out for great deals and offers. check on amazon and other gift sites for great offers. Also, if your feeling really sneaky, give them a note with the details of what you are going to buy them on xmas day, then buy it when its heavily discounted after xmas, enabling you to spend more!
If you want to buy everyone what they want, whilst keeping it a surprise, maybe get them a slight variation on the exact product they would like?or swap gift ideas with everyone else in the family to ensure no double gifts, and that they don't expect particular gifts from people.

For acquaintances and different casual friends, i purchase a container or 2 of small votive candles in pink and eco-friendly. Then i purchase lace fabric, and a few yards of ribbon. I minimize the fabric into circles super adequate to wrap around the candles and that i tie the actual with a small length of ribbon. I even have each and each present contain 2 of those candles. at times I supply domicile baked products which includes muffins or cookies.
