You may say that different people eat different amounts of spaghetti. True. But let's go with average person, average hunger, recommended daily allowance, etc. How do I measure out a single serving of raw spaghetti?

On average, you can think of 1/4 to 3/8 of a pound of spaghetti as a normal serving.
Buy a 1 lb. package of dry thin or regular spaghetti.
Don't waste your time. Make exactly half of the package's contents, as your usual amount.
You'll have enough left over and more than you need for one serving. It will last two main courses or one main course and a lunch.
Eighty grams of raw pasta is the perfect serving especially if it's the first course. You either weigh it or pick up one of those kitchen (pasta measuring) tools with the holes in it. The holes measure out 80, 100 & 120 grams of spaghetti.
Take a fistfull of the dry spaghetti and look at the diameter of the circle it makes. About 1 inch is enough for 2 smallish servings or one really big one.
I lb. = 8 single servings
its about......75gr uncooked, which works out about 170gr cooked.
i'd always do a little extra though - just incase!
enjoy! x
