I would suggest a crate for her when you are gone. Also since she is acting so strange it would be best to make her a vet appt. so you can figure out exactly what is going on here. Dogs usually do not act this way,yes sometimes when one "master" is not around anymore they can sometimes act out(especially if they are attached to said "master") BUT I don't think this is normal. You might also check into one of those cones that they use after the dog is fixed to prevent said biting and scratching. You might also check into the fact that someone when you aren't around isn't being mean or cruel to her. Some dogs act differently when they are abused.Not all of them run,hife,or tuck their tails between their legs...some dogs tend to lash out after being abused. NOT saying that anyone in your home is doing so but it wouldn't hurt to keep a watchful eye out for it due to such hostile behavior all of the sudden. The fact is there are two options here. You can either get a job and take extreme measures to keep her from hurting herself or lashing out everytime you are gone....or the sad fact that you may have to end up giving her away. I strongly suggest that you try to find the core of the problem first because it might be very easy to reverse and get her on the right track again...if all else fails then yes you might have to end up giving her up. Well if the dog is acting strangely then something is wrong. Dogs dont just change behavior to make ppl mad. You should find like a dog whisperer. Sometimes dogs can sense stress in the house. Try to act happier around your pet. But you should still see a dog whisperer.

I hate when ppl get pets then decide one day they cant take care of them. To me thats like adoping a 5 year old child keeping for a while then giving it back to the orphanege.
