governing statute of limitations has expired, whichever is the longer
period.
If this debt is for credit, then it should be removed once it has reached the expiration date after the 7 1/2 year reporting period.
Running of Reporting Period - Section 605 [15 U.S.C. § 1681c]
As of December 29, 1997 the reporting period runs 7 ½ years (7 years plus 180 days) from the date (month and year) of the last delinquency (known as "last missed payment:).
7 years is the max. allowable time for negative items to be on your credit file as allowed under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.....
Send the credit bureaus a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt stating:
Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I am requesting validation that this item is being reporting within the 7-year time frame as allowed under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Note: Bankruptcies and judgments can stay longer on your credit files...up to ten years.
unfavourable products acuually stay on your comments for 7 years and a hundred and eighty days from the date of first delinquincy. If the debt incurred on jan. a million of 2000, it wont burst off of your comments til june 30, 2008. Is it achieveable which you arent previous the 7 yrs. a hundred and eighty day mark?
