It's an Android phone too. Sprint, which owns Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile announced earlier this year its prepaid divisions were going to be getting smartphones from Blackberry (it happened to Boost) and other platforms. The Zio may be headed for VM.
The phones are so-so because it's a cheap service. I'm sure they'll have touch phones once those types of phones get cheap enough - I remember when color phones cost $400, so I'm sure sooner or later touch phones will end up being free or cheap too.
