Hi. So my friend the other day was talking to me about when I'm go to Japan as an exchange student. He told me he was excited for me but said that Japanese was a useless language. I told him it certainly was not and that it is the 6th most spoken language. He still says it is a useless language. If anything, a useless language would be Italian. So, you never do anything in life that is useless? If I were you, I'd take a semester of Japanese, and see how I liked it. It's a much better hobby than Animal Crossing or Pachinko or drinking to excess every Thursday night. It can develop your brain, and help you see the world from a different perspective. If you have it, there's a good chance you will find a way to use it. But there's no shame in learning something else. You have to decide what YOU want, not what other people want. And don't try to second-guess the future, because who knows? When Japanese robots take over the world, you might find it useful to have Japanese language skills (-:.
