No, you're not paranoid. I only freak out when my boyfriend takes my phone when I have something to hide.
Don't know if he's cheating but what does he have to hide from you? If he didn't have anything to hide he wouldn't freak about you looking at his phone. You're not being paranoid.
I think you should fess up also what goes around ends up being rewarded with that hack back
probably not, but I would be paranoid too.
