When I was a chef, other than cream soups, I never used meat or meat broths for vegetable based soups, I thickened with either flour or cornstarch, tomato bisque is just tomato soup with chunks of tomato, even a southwestern version may have chili powder, garnishes like sour cream, yogurt and other items are vegetarian, no one would put bacon in it and not say so.

This website shows this soup as containing 90 mg of cholesterol. Because cholesterol is only found in animal foods, this soup must not be vegan.

Why go to a restaurant? Make your own tomato bisque soup at home... Use vegetable stock, there are already So many recipes on the internet!
