i am writing a novel and have writers block. music always helps, but i keep listening to the same music i listened to before and need new stuff to listen to & get me out of my rut. i usually listen to paramore, evanescence, a fine frenzy, muse, marjorie fair, never shout never, within temptation, foo fighters, civil twilight, carolina liar, and bright eyes. can you recomend new music, similar to what i listed. or you can tell me new stuff, as long as it isn't emo/scremo. alternative is fine. thanks :)

Ugh, the curse of writer's block. Since you listen to some of the same bands I do when the words refuse to come (Evanescence, A Fine Frenzy and Within Temptation), maybe some of my other favorite writer's block bands will light the spark of inspiration. They are all on the symphonic/melodic side of female-fronted metal:
- Delain, "April Rain" album
- Stream of Passion, "The Flame Within" album
- La-Ventura, "A New Beginning" album
- ShadowPlay, self-titled album
- Silentium, "Amortean" album
- Kingfisher Sky, "Hallway of Dreams" album
- Markize, "Transparence" album
- Autumn, "Altitude" album
Try Tokio Hotel. They are punk/rock/pop/alternative (I don't really consider them pop though)
Their old music is more of being free, expressing urself, rebel. Their new album is like feeling like a humanoid, not really like everyone else. People should just acccept everyone and have a good heart. Some of the songs are like a dark anthem, others inspiring, about relationships with clever metaphors, some funny, others dealing with stereotypes if that makes sense. There music is both in English and German, so they make two different CDs. But when they were younger they only did German and they had amazing songs from back then. I highly recommand them. I discovered them over the summer and have herd nothing or seen anyhting like them. They are very famous everywhere except not so much in America. Go on YouTube or iTunes( Americas iTunes doesn't have their German songs) and look up the albums:
Schrei
Scream
Zimmer 483
Humanoid
I tend to think the German lyrics are better then the English translation but still good equally. They don't have sissy lyrics and have songs that are nothing like anyone else, very original and catchy. That's why they win pretty much every category they are voted for. So check them out as soon as u can!!!
Some other bands:
Never Shout Never (acoustic)
Alexander Rybak (try his song Fairytale, he one Eurovision last year and is from Norway)
Camila (in Spanish)
If u want me to list a ton of songs with links to them, just message me. I'm on my iPod touch right now and it would crash if I tried. Otherwise I'll edit back later when I can. Kwaheri ;)
listen to sum buckcherry (: good luck .
