i'm getting braces in 4 days and i'm really excited, but every day seems to get longer and longer. how do i keep my mind off it so the days go by faster?
Let me tell you, braces is NOTHING to be excited about. I'm getting mine off on Tuesday and I couldn't be happier about it. They hurt, cut up your mouth, give you ulcers, you get food stuck in them, you can't open your mouth on pictures, they look ugly and the actual process of putting them off and having them tightened is horrible.
I was really excited about getting them on 18 months ago, like you I couldn't wait. The reality though, is very different. The first week you'll pretty much hate it. You're mouth will feel SO uncomfortable, and sleeping on your mouth will hurt. I've got some scars inside my mouth where they've cut me up so bad. It's not nice. The thing to be excited about is getting them off. The only good thing to come out of them is having straight teeth and missing a few lessons of school (appointments). Good luck! Hope they aren't so bad for you!

Keep yourself busy.
Start a project of some sort and focus all of your attention on it. Volunteer. Hit the gym, mall, movies, etc.
Do whatever you can think of that does not relate to getting braces in any way. That way it will completely disctract you.
