How do I improve my PC's performance?
This is my pc spec:
Processor- AMD Athlon II x2 240 (2x 2.9 MHz)
RAM- 2x 1GB DDR3
Graphics Card- ATI Radeon 4550
360GB hard drive
Windows 7
It runs okay, but with some games, I have to go down to medium or even low graphics for decent performance. I was wondering what I should upgrade? I ran the Windows Experience Index and it said my processor, RAM, gaming graphics and hard disk are all about 6, but my Graphics is 4.8. Should I get a better graphics card, and if so what sort of thing should I get? Thanks.

Your video card is the weak link here. The Windows Experience Index isn't the best benchmark to judge system performance by. Upgrading to a Radeon 5770 or GeForce GTS 450 would offer significant gaming performance improvement for a relatively low amount of money. The Radeon 5830/5850 or GeForce GTX 460 would be better though. Make sure your power supply is adequate before upgrading your video card though.
You answered your own question - the video card is limiting your performance. A 4550 is not that high end, so modern games will perform poorly with it...
Since you have ATI already, look into the 5000 series. Compare performance of those cards here:

PS: Watch out for power supply requirements, the higher the video card, the more power it needs - you may have to replace your power supply if it's not up to 500W or 600W already...
Even a 5550 card will be about twice as fast as the 4550...

Better Video , like 57xx/58xx range
Add another 2GB of memory
increase u r ram upto 4 gb
