Don't be rude, people.
They're right, though, a phonics system should help you. You were taught to read through that glorious Progressive method, the Whole Language system (may the fraudulent academics who favor it burn in hell for a million years).
Try looking for phonics sites, phonics drills, phonics lessons on the internet. Go to your library and look for "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons". If they don't have it, ask them to order it or borrow it via their interlibrary loan system. If your family can afford it, try Kumon Reading or the Sylvan Learning Center. Sue the school that taught you to mis-read for the tuition and for your lost wages.
One thing you weren't taught was to have your eyes move smoothly from left to right, then go down a line. Yes, eventually your eyes move jerkily as you read bigger chunks of words but that doesn't mean a beginning reader ought to read the way an advanced reader does, duh? Instead you were taught to look at the outline of the whole word and blast away at it with a wild guess at what the word was. There are instances of second-graders looking at a little word "P-A-I-L" and saying "bucket". Small wonder that when the brain already got hard-wired for "P" to stand for "B", the child ended up screwed up. Your task is to unscrew the mess.
One fellow who works with brain disorders including dyslexia has his clients crawl on all fours for half an hour, three times a day, and that often works. His name is Glenn Doman and he's written a couple of books. It's a controversial method. My dad's step-grandson went through the therapy and cured his dyslexia.
When you have a challenge to supporting your child that has trouble studying, no matter what era she\he the program is the thing you need, Children Learning Reading from here https://tr.im/MOdQb .
Children Learning Reading is distinctive from different programs since it does not rely on training phrases by view, a method that depends on children realizing and memorizing words by their material and structure. You could have seen (or also bought!) classes that promote whole term recognition understanding, these courses often require you to stay your youngster facing a television or computer monitor for a substantial amount of time so as to allow them to learn words that will allow them to begin their examining journey.
With Children Learning Reading your kid may only need to invest 5\15 minutes at day and he\she may learn to construct the phrase creating the complete procedure for learning how to see a lot more effectively.
1. You can find books on your condition/work with a speech or reading therapist.
2. You can pick a word or two out of the dictionary everyday and practice spelling it throughout the day.
3. Practice spelling out loud, or in your head with common things throughout the day. Like McDonald's, subway, etc etc.
4. Watch the spelling bee on espn today or watch previous episodes.
Hope that helps.
Well
There are numerous documented benefits and advantages of teaching children to read early on, and teaching them to reading using phonics and phonemic awareness instructions. It is clear that early language and reading ability development passes great benefits to the child as they progress through school at all grades, and that early language and reading problems can lead to learning problems later on in school.

Well, if you see from some of the other answers, they can not spell either. I would recommend not to take anyone's advice if they can't apply to the question. But, I agree to theirs. But, don't always agree to someone if they say something they can't even do.
