Ok I live in a 2 bedroom 1 bath half double with basement. My home is full electric. I put plastic on my windows but what are other ways I can lower my electric bill?
Now that the winter is getting here, go in late evening in the cold of the night and swipe the open palms of your hand around the doors and windows and look for cracks that maybe filled with caulking or with foam insulation in a can (choose the kind that won't expand to much it can damage), have a programmable thermostat and set it according to instructions, also I have noticed that Menard's has about 6 or 8 florescent bulbs in the electric dept. for less than 10.00 fill your house with them, but don't use them where a variable voltage is applied to over head fans do use where it's a straight on / off deal.
Also, I have two bricks in my toilet to save water and / or electric water pump.
Also, buy a battery unit that installs on your faucets, and runs when your hands or near it....
Google for it... If you have any furnace filters keep them changed, saves blower motor from dirt / end.
If you can afford it get the cheapest "Hand Dryer" in your toilet, stops the spreading of decease.
Helps with doctor visits...and the cost / time of washing drying towels.
Get a TV Antenna and a PreAmp cpa-19 and get rid of cable...Streamline c4 ant.
Clean your Cloth Dryer screen filter on the unit itself and at the exhaust outside the house, keeps the dryer from internal overheating and not drying your cloths efficiently.
Stop water leaks they are expensive even the once that look very innocent$$$$$...
Buy a cheap 179.00 TV and save immensely on electric$$$$, to replace old vacuum tube types...
Put a non skid mat on your bathtub and avoid the hip injury...$$$$$
Replace your windows with double pane glass with argon gas and the savings will pay complete in the first to second season they are that good...

Turn everything off that you are not using.
Wash and dry clothes only when there are full loads. The dryer is 220.
The same with the dish washer.
Putting the hot water heater on save will save.
Same with the refrigerator.
Reducing the brightness on the high-definition tv will help.
The oven is 220. Using it less will save.
Keeping the thermostat below 75 will help.
Putting something under the doors to keep drafts out and the heat in will too.
Cut down on the outside lighting.
Go to "So.CalEdison.com"
They have a little test you can do then they tell you what more you can do. They have a whole list of stuff. It's fun and easy too.
Try energy efficent bulbs, turning out lights when not in a room. Block drafts, etc..

Calking the windows. Draft blocker at door. Insulate stitch and outlet plates.
