For the last 5 or 6 months I have been having constant burning in my Vaginal area. I went to the Doctor and was negative for a UTI and they have me an antifungal medicine in case I had a yeas infection..it didn't make me feel better. Finally I went to the ER because the burning inside was so bad. My pap smear showed I have a Strep Group B infection. What is it? Will it go away? Can I pass it on to my husband during intercourse? Advice Please? Thanks!

It's an infection, not a disease. It can cause diseases if it's not taken care of. No you can not spread it to your husband but you really shouldn't be having sex until you get this taken care of simply because it may be causing other problems down there that sexual motion can aggravate.
I would avoid this ER you went to and go somewhere else next time because they should have told you what this means other than just telling you what you have, and they possibly should have treated you with antibiotics to get rid of it. I'm not sure if antibiotics are used in every case but they should have let you know if this needed to be treated or not or what the actual guidelines are to follow after a diagnosis. You should see another doctor if they didn't explain all this to you.
A lot of people have strep b who are healthy and have no symptoms. So just because you tested positive for it doesn't mean that's actually what's causing your symptoms. It may be, but it may also be something completely unrelated that they missed.
