both are good engines the 305 is just a smaller version of the 350,the 350 has more power though and runs better but its a little harder on gas, either engine runs and pulls good though,i have owned both and prefer a 350 over a 305 because of the amount of power they can produce, cost is about the same on rebuilding those, there shouldn't be a 100 bucks difference in the price of rebuilding either one, about 1200 for either one is enough, good luck
305 too a 350 is just horse power. now with the gas prices you prolly want to go with the 305. On the other hand the 350 will being a faster more powerful engine. re-building the engine will cost you about 1-2 thousand dollars but it depends on why you want to re-build it. if your willing to spend money on it you should just buy a new crate engine. It will be brand new and it will be much simpler than re-building it
a 305 was one of chevy's worst engines they ever put together, the cam was weak in it and went out, your much better off with the 350 as it's built much better and will give you better performance, it will bolt right into your car.

The 350 is a stronger engine. You could buy a 350 for what it would cost you to rebuild this weaker 305.

wat kind of trans u got
700r4 get it rebuild or stick with the 305
you can get a 350 if u aint worry about gas and put a 350 turbo trans behind it
if you got a 700r4 and a built 350 ur trans wont be able to handle that horse power
in you got a 200 turbo trans get rid of it and get a better trans
