My brake pedal does NOT go to the floor, but the brakes don't really slow me down until I've pushed the furthest it will go before physically stopping! Please help with this, as it has already almost made me hit someone's car just driving to my front yard (from garage in backyard)!
Car is 1986 Civic
Update:Also I have recently replaced the brake booster line (old one was dry rotted), so I do get "power" assisted brakes, its just the BRAKES don't work until the pedal is as far as it can go, meaning no matter what it's pressed in all the way to slow down (but NOT to floor)

rear brakes could be not working correctly that means front brakes do all the work not master cylinder cause pedal would go clear to floor if power booster goes bad you will have really hard brake pedal which sounds like you do
Take it (or tow it) to a brake shop. It sounds like you have air in the lines or something. I work on cars all the time and I usually have a brake place double check my work.
Sounds like air in the lines, you can bleed them yourself just have someone sit in the hair and hit the brake pedal as needed.
Sounds like you've lost your master cylinder. This car is not safe to drive. Do not drive it anywhere since you would be found at fault if you were to have a crash.
