Are chinese made trombones good for marching band?
So i'm looking around for a silver trombone to use for marching band(on ebay) and i'm seeing all these chinese made trombones like e.f. durand and weimer for really cheap and tempting prices. I know people say "there's a reason they're so low-priced" and "they're terrible horns, they break after one use" but i was wondering how are they for marching band? Maybe someone with experience with these horns could help me. Thanks

Anything will work for marching band. It's not like you can make a good sound marching around on the field anyways. Use the crappiest horn you can get. Never bring a horn that's more than $500 onto the field. It will get destroyed. I would actually rent a horn from my band director if I were you. It's not worth it to buy one.
it rather is rather common to make a valid on the reed yet very distinctive to the trombone! The tone is what takes time. And it is so worth it spending funds on high quality reeds and a mouthpiece. student saxes arent super gadgets regrettably and steer away from a miles less costly made in China device. I play the two alto and tenor and prefer tenor yet they are heavier. the biggest paintings is very straight forward and it rather is in simple terms the octave key that performs up the octave (in assessment to clarinet the place up the octave doesnt tournament the decrease octave). I play oboe, flute, clarinet and sax. To be straight forward nevertheless, flute is the least complicated device although that's a wispy sound of direction. Alto sax is a B flat device and tenor is an E flat device.
I don't have experience with those exact brands, but if it's for marching then expect it to get wet. I suppose that if you have a good concert or trigger trombone then you could get away with that one for marching season, just make sure you keep it clean in the off season and especially after rainy Friday nights!
