Hi! I just rescued a female guinea pig who is very very pregnant. I've never had baby guinea pigs before and am looking for a bit of a crash course on any tips that could come in useful when the babies are born, or about the last few days of pregnancy or birth. I reckon she'll have them in the next few days, I know there are at least two (I felt them kicking on opposite sides of her belly.) The mum herself doesn't completely trust me yet as she was mishandled often by a child in her previous home, I want her to be as comfortable as possible and feel safe and happy when she has the babies. Also she wasn't being fed any veggies or much hay in her previous home, so is there any specific diet I should be feeding her to get her and the babies strong and healthy quickly? Thanks for any advice!
