If Azula didn't shot Katara, Zuko has a big chance considering Zuko equaled Azula, I mean when I watch that I almost gasped and said "He could do that?" Even though Azula has her flame blue, it only means that the temp. of her flame is only hotter but it dosen't means it is moe powerful.When i saw them fighting, in the earlier episodes Azula always win because she is a better fighter, but in this episode Zuko produce fire as great as Azula does, if Azula struck lightning to Zuko he might redircted it back to her, because Azula dosn't know how to redirect she might die or get injured fom this but as we all know Azula is witty, she might have think of not striking Zuko because he might redirct it to her. It may now depends on their endurance on their fight. Because Zuko is male, older than Azula, and have more experience events that tested his endurance than Azula this is a big advantage on him considering Azula lived with comfort all in her life. So with this Zuko wins!!!

I really do believe that Zuko would have won that particular fight against Azula, simply because her insanity and fatigue would have set her back. Plus, her mind was not really into the battle itself, but rather on killing Zuko once and for all. Ever since she lost Mai and Ty Lee, she had been going downhill, as far as her abilities go. However, if Azula was NOT crazy at the time of the fight, Zuko would have lost. Zuko is not yet the genius that Azula is, although his skills are greatly improving. Azula is the prodigy and can bend things unlike Iroh and Ozai can. She would've clearly won.

Zuko should've been able to learn lightning BEFORE the series ended. I was really surprised to find out that he didn't. Although, Iroh wasn't around to teach him, so that's understandable. But in the ep. "Bitter Work", when Iroh was teaching him lightning, he told Zuko that he wouldn't be able to generate lightning until the inner turmoil in him were to fade away. Zuko chose the right path and got himself together emotionally, thereby allowing him to successfully create lightning. So yeah, he should be able to make lightning pretty easily now.

my question is: is there an ability STRONGER than lightning? Like a "level-up" to firebending? Is there a "White fire"? white fire tends to be the hottest, so maybe there is!

Crazy Azula would have won anyway. She had more experience than him and temporary insanity doesn't take away years of being ahead on fighting skills. She could have been careless and still win because, unlike emo Zuko or just Zuko, she has a cold demeanor and not seeking anything sentimental or profound, she just wants to be more powerful and less philosophical. That's mean but makes people stronger if you want to be strong without morality and boundaries. Besides, emo Zuko would have had second thoughts if it came to really hurting his sister, whom he pities, not hates like his daddy, not that's anything wrong with that. I think he would have redirected lightning in the battle, perhaps miss or less effectively than Azula's.

Zuko. He improved a lot and was clearly going to win against Azula if the lightning bolt didn't to go Katara. If it had been shot directly at him instead of at Katara he would have successfully redirected it. Zuko will most likely get the ability to generate lightning at some point thanks to his rapid improvements later on in the series and the fact that he already has the skill to redirect.

Definitely Zuko. Though he was a weaker firebender in the the 1st and 2nd season he became a master firebender after he and Aang had their adventure. And, Azula went completely nutty after her dad left her in her eyes.. Zuko may never be able to generate lightening. He feels too much. In the episode after Iroh gets shot with Azula's lightening and he trains Zuko to re direct it, he says "Lightening is known as the cold blooded fire."

Zuko would have. Azula was visibly tired and going insane. Also, Zuko has already succesfully redirected lightning against Ozai, and she probably couldn't offer anything more threatening than him. Zuko seemed fine throughout the whole fight.

Azula was loosing it, and possibly, it seemed the lightning always came from rage (granted the people that could do it were always angry), but Zuko may have been able to in the future.
