I love riding coasters and was thinking about writing a book reviewing rides and/or parks. My first question is what am I allowed to say about my experiences and the parks themselves without permission of the company or park owners? Secondly, how could I potentially attain discounted tickets or travel assistance from the parks I am writing about? A family of mine was a travel agent and was given free travel with the hope that she would in turn recommend the places to she visited to her customers. Is there something similar I could do as an author? Thank you and ten points!

The first are really the types of questions you really need to ask an attorney about. As for the second, it's often considered bad form to go somewhere free of charge (as it may influence your opinion) but that's a fluid opinion. You could get away with just going to parks that will let you in for free, then saying that's why you chose these particular ones at the beginning of the book. That puts them all on even footing. Keep in mind that a lot of parks don't care what you have to say about them and probably won't give you free entrance simply because you want to write a book. If that's a field you ~really~ want to pursue - reviewing vacation destinations and attractions? - then you'll probably have to get pretty well established as ~the~ person to consult before a lot of the larger parks care. Local or small attractions, however, might give you a pass since to them it's free advertising.
