I am pro choice on abortion. I believe marriage should not discriminate on sexual orientation. I believe guns should be regulated. I believe certain drugs should be regulated. However, I'd also like to follow the constitution while having those beliefs. I have no idea what should be considered a state of national law.
The Tenth Amendment states that powers not granted to the federal government nor prohibited to the states is reserved to the states. I feel that gives states power over an incredible amount of things. If so, why is abortion currently legal in all 50 states?
I'm having a lot of trouble grasping what is and what isn't a state issue and why.

"why is abortion currently legal in all 50 states?"
Look up "Roe vs Wade", a landmark Supreme Court ruling which struck down State laws banning abortion.
The majority of the Court held those laws violate the principle of privacy which they saw as implied within our US Constitution. Surely the government cannot tell a pregnant women she MUST give birth.
Still, the Court did allow for some regulation of abortion in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. An awkward compromise.

Many of us have the same problem. Thus many ongoing debates between liberals, conservatives and others.
well, anything that's a moral concern, certainly, but also anything irrelevant to the running of the government.
