Raw head writer Brian Gewirtz was credited, or blamed, depending on your point of view, for booking Shawn Michaels to pin World Heavyweight champion Edge on his last night on Raw. Gewirtz's explanation was that guy leaving the territory, or brand in this case, has to job on the way out.
Triple H was the power behind the move because when it was questioned, he supported it, which made it close to a done deal. There is a belief backstage that Triple H doesn't want Edge to succeed, noting that he tried to block all previous plans of him to moving to SmackDown and winning the title until Mr. Kennedy went down with an injury, and at this point he couldn't reasonably block it anymore. There was vocal opposition to Edge being pinned, saying that it makes the SmackDown title and champion look secondary. Triple H's argument was that HBK is the biggest tenured star on the brand, and he had just put over Khali, and he needs a big win because he'll be wrestling Cena on PPV again within the next few shows. On the other hand, Michaels suggested doing a non-finish, since from his perspective, the key point of the match was for him to be beat down by Randy Orton to promote their match for tonight at Judgment Day. Michaels said he didn't want to bury the SmackDown title but was told it was Vince McMahon's decision and he wasn't changing it.
As you might imagine, Edge wasn't pleased with the booking decision and he wasn't hiding his dissatisfaction backstage that night. Edge is said to be happy to move over to Smackdown because internally it's considered less political, not to mention that he doesn't have to deal with a certain wrestler as much anymore.
Update:To the third answer I am not tryin to blame Triple H I just copied and pasted an article from a wrestling site

I have no clue what you just typed because i dident feel like reading. I just much rather take your 2pts. As you just pathediclly wasted 5pts
I can diffinatly see that. From what I hear Triple H is constantly politiking around in the back and if he doesn't like you then your probably in for some shi*. Don;t know how much of it is true and I don't realy care. Triple H is an awesome talent out in the ring and on the mic, whatever the hell he wants to do backstage I don't care. But I dont think the loss made him look to bad I mean if your gonna loose you may as well do it against Shawn. And I think Edge will get further in smackdown then he would have on raw
Smackdowns title is secondary to Raws. Get a clue nimrod, Edge and HBK have been going back and forth for a while now, they had to but some kind of finalization to it. The abvious thing was to have Shawn win. Edge is gone from Raw so it doesnt matter how it makes him look.
Stop trying to blame Triple H for all of wrestlings problems. Raw has sucked since he went out. That should tell you something right there.
that could desire to be warm shotting, and it is not something that a advertising in the WWE's place could probable do till they actually do evaluate TNA a probability.. in case you attempt to make money why could you provide away a PPV journey on loose television? Realistically TNA has no shot at even drawing a million/2 of what uncooked will in the scores. Hotshotting has drastic effects, for the duration of it is final days WCW replaced into hottshoting normally. once you provide away PPV high quality suits on loose television it devalues your PPVs and that costs money. a first-rate occasion of this replaced into the 1st Hogan Vs. Goldberg journey on Nitro. WCW could desire to've made actually tens of millions on that journey had they saved it for a PPV, yet Bischoff, ever the scores guy that he replaced into/is, needed so badly to triumph over uncooked in the scores even for basically one week, that he gave the journey away for loose. Now Nitro did beat uncooked that week, however the very next monday uncooked trounced Nitro returned. short term income, long term loss.
well HHH has always put his nose where it doesnt belong backstage and i agree with HBK that a non-finish would have been way much better than seein the worlds champ lose and then be forgotten about just 2 put over the HBK v RKO match
I agree, there have been some questionable calls as far as HBK and HHH go. It seems management favors them.
But then again, HHH is the opportunist, right? If you had the chance to promote your's or your friend's career, wouldn't you do it?
triple h i agree with u they should leave TRIPLE H alone. HE is not bothering anyone. So u all leave my main guy alone ok.I am glad someone besides me will take up 4 TRIPLE H.
Triple H has always been a backstage b@stard. He always gets what he wants, and nothing will ever change that.
