I was hoping someone could please explain to me why my teacher did this and what I should do about it. Today, we took an AP chemistry chapter test. I've been studying for the past week, and I was initially very very happy with the grade I received. I got an 86%, which compared to the rest of the class, was really good. On the last test, I got a 95%, but I was still extremely proud of myself for getting the 86%. Well when my teacher saw, he immediately looked pissed. He asked me if I studied, and when I said that I had, he said, "well it doesn't seem like it."I asked him why and he said that he expected more out of me on this test. He was being completely serious too, i could see the frustration on his face. I realize that I've done better on previous tests but not all units are the same, and I just so happened to understand the previous section more. The rest of the class got between a D-C-, and he was very happy with them. Can someone please explain to me why he did this and how I can fix it? Oh by the way, another one of my classmates got a 99% on the last test and got a 81% on this test and he congratulated them because this was "harder material".

I agree that he is expecting more from you than others. Be glad for that, because it means he sees that you have exceptional abilities. It will sometimes p*** you off, but always remember that.
He may also have been surprised and frustrated that his very good students didn't do well. He spends his days trying to impart the information as best he can, and he may feel he didn't get through to you.
He did it to either because he was trying to push to do even better because he sees higher potential in you or he was jus trying to mess around with you. Lastly but doughtfully he might have thought you didn't study because you might have had a look on your face that just tells AP teachers that a student did not study the previous night
