If yes, please support your answer with a bible verse(s). If not, then how can Lucifer choose to become bad???
Update:The truth of the matter is Angels of God aren't actually physical angel that we know of having wings and beautiful bodies. They are the words and power of God...that is why most of the angels that appear when God wants to send a message or destroy something. God uses its word when he wants something done. So how came his words would go amiss and choose evil??? Find me an angel who have disobeyed God! Satan himself followed God's commands when they were testing Job.
All in all, God's power and word cannot in any stray from HIM. So you can't even put a free-will on his angels.
If you take the bible in its literal sense then you will get lost in the process and you will see a lot of problems in questions like this...you show verses that is taken in context when it should have been understood in a spiritual or symbolic way.
Check your verses and try to replace angels with "word" or "power" of God. Then you will see the difference.
Thanks!

In Islam, NO! Angels don't have free-will. They are made to obey and follow God's orders. They don't have sex or any other desires like eating or even sleeping.
Satan unlike in Christianity is not a fallen Angel but instead a Jinn(spirit) who was a respectful figure and used to sit with the angels although he wasn't one. Angels are made from divine light whereas Jinns(spirits) are made from fire.
From the Jewish point of view: NO. That is why there is no comparable figure to Lucifer in Judaism. The hebrew word for accuser is "satan"- and Hasatan (the accuser) is merely the angel charged with bringing your sins to the fore when you are facing the heavenly court after your death (basically, he acts for the prosecution).
In other words- in Judaism God is the sole author of events in the world, no supernatural forces oppose, no supernatural forces have any free will except for him. All other supernatural forces are merely his tools for effecting specific changes in the world.
"And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgement of the great day." (Jude 6).
The devil and the angels who followed him in rebellion made a choice to abandon their habitation and place in God's kingdom, thus they "left their first estate." These were acts of willful rebellion against a Holy God. There were consequences.
"And there was war in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and the dragon fought and his angels. And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Revelation 12:7-9).
Those angels who remained faithful to God are referred to as the "elect angels" (1 Tim. 5:21). They live to serve God. Their acts and existence are centered around a willing submission and obedience to their Creator.
It's clear that angels have free will.
I have to say their is not much in the bible to support angellic anthropology...however, in the bible angels were used as messengers and gift bearers and they seemed to be doing the job without fail much like a person who has pledged their service to another like a king or a lord. To knowingly not do the king or lord's bidding as requested would deem them a traitor.
Now I am aware of much nonbible literature of Angels, detailing how angels and humans were playing by different rules. Humans were given choice and favored by god and angels were not given choice. It sounds a lot like the redheaded step child syndrome. According to nonbible information, the angels became jealous of man and Azazel, not Lucifer lead the disgruntled angels away after they lost the battle (not war) against Michael and his followers. Lucifer was just the successor to Azazel once they reached their new location (very much akin to Moses leading the jews out of Egypt but not surviving to carry out the plan and his cousin assumed the position)
It is my belief and assumption that all things living have choices. They choose to go left and right or up and down....and if these things think for themselves have the ability to choose to be content or not. When one is not content, they tend to search for ways to be content. Much like warlords and self proclaimed leaders, becoming content when you are not often leads to conflict with another.
Yes, God does not want fake love, He wanted to see if the angels would love Him out of their own strength. Lucifer decided different and got kicked out of Heaven, then God made hell for him and his demons! You dont play with God, if you do, you will be punished, ask Satan his future destiny, he fears God! lol, just an inside joke, but if anyone follows Satan they will go with him! But follow God you will go to Heaven (through Jesus)!
Yes. Lucifer was a angel and he rebelled against God and a therd of the other angels followed him.
God bless
Lucifer rebelled against God.
Today he is called Satan, or the Devil.
The Bible records in cryptic language how this occurred:
"Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says:
" 'You were the model of perfection,
full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
13 You were in Eden,
the garden of God;
every precious stone adorned you:
ruby, topaz and emerald,
chrysolite, onyx and jasper,
sapphire, turquoise and beryl.
Your settings and mountings were made of gold;
on the day you were created they were prepared.
14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub,
for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones.
15 You were blameless in your ways
from the day you were created
till wickedness was found in you.
16 Through your widespread trade
you were filled with violence,
and you sinned.
So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God,
and I expelled you, O guardian cherub,
from among the fiery stones.
17 Your heart became proud
on account of your beauty,
and you corrupted your wisdom
because of your splendor.
So I threw you to the earth;
I made a spectacle of you before kings.
18 By your many sins and dishonest trade
you have desecrated your sanctuaries.
So I made a fire come out from you,
and it consumed you,
and I reduced you to ashes on the ground
in the sight of all who were watching.
19 All the nations who knew you
are appalled at you;
you have come to a horrible end
and will be no more.' "
Exekiel 28:12-19
He is destined for eternal punishment:
"Then he (the Christ) will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels..."
Matthew 25:41
We don't think that they do. Like the Muslims, we don't believe that the Satan is a "fallen angel."
You already answered your own question. You should read the bible yourself. You would learn alot more than by someone just giving you the answers.
